UPDATE: (11:15 a.m.) All NB lanes are now open. SB lanes remain closed at the point in time.
TEMECULA, Ca. – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) shut the 15 freeway down in both directions following a traffic collision, which involved live power lines.
All lanes are blocked, both north and southbound in the City of Temecula at Winchester Road to Murrieta Hot Springs, including the 215 split. You will be unable to access the south 15 freeway from the 215 until further notice. The traffic collision left the live power lines across the freeway. Southern California Edison arrived at the scene at 10:30 a.m. and will remove the downed power lines from the freeway.
Once the risk of potential injury is mitigated, the lanes of the freeway will be reopened.
