JURUPA VALLEY – Exactly one week following a shooting at a San Bernardino marijuana dispensary, yet another marijuana dispensary was the target of a Jurupa Valley shooting on Thursday. The similarities in both shootings mimic each other in several ways but it is unclear if the two are related.
At around 2:40 a.m. three male suspects entered the dispensary in the 6100 block of Mission blvd brandishing firearms. The armed security guard came in contact with them and gunfire was exchanged. In the midst of the gunfire a dispensary employee was injured by a single gunshot wound. The three suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan without any merchandise or cash.
The suspects were only described as young male adults who were wearing dark clothes and bandanas covering their faces. Officers conducted a search of the area but were not able to locate the suspects. The injured dispensary employee was transported to the hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Less than an hour later a 21-year-old Loma Linda man entered the hospital with two gunshot wounds to his leg. Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the case, as there is no evidence to support his recollection of events. It is unclear if this or any of the other incidents are related in any way. Sheriff’s officials described the incident and named the victim in the Thursday afternoon press release.
If anyone has any information regarding the Jurupa Valley marijuana dispensary shooting they are urged to call Investigator Ted Gonzales at the Jurupa Valley Station at 951-955-2600.
