HESPERIA – A vehicle versus pedestrian collision took the life of a 20-year-old Hesperia man early Saturday morning. At around 2:09 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016, the pedestrian, identified as, Kris King was crossing Ranchero Road near Mesa Linda Street when he was struck by a westbound traveling Toyota mini-van.
The pedestrian was reported to be unconscious and not breathing, dispatchers gave those at the scene CPR instructions over the phone until emergency medical personnel arrived. The California Highway Patrol and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene just minutes later . King was pronounced dead at 2:28 p.m. The cause of the collision remains under investigation at this time.
