VICTORVILLE – A 5-year-old girl was hit by a car Wednesday night while attempting to cross the street with her uncle on Village Drive near Eto Camino Road, officials said. At around 8:08 p.m. deputies from the Victorville station arrived to find the small child suffering from a broken leg.
The Nissan Frontier struck the child as she crossed at the unmarked intersection of Eto Camino Road. The 51-year-old Victorville man who was traveling northbound on Village drive saw the pedestrians and swerved attempting to avoid them but hit the child. The child was transported to Victor Valley Global Medical Center in preparation to be airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT), is investigating the collision.
