FONTANA – A 50-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, after climbing into the window of a residence in the 11000 block of Oleander Way in the City of Fontana. The man climbed into the window of a 16-year-old girl who he had met earlier that day, officials said.
The suspect later identified as Armando Contreras was staying with family a few houses away from the victim’s home. Earlier that day Contreras casually spoke with teen and after going out drinking he returned to the neighborhood noticing the victim’s window was open. He climbed through the window, which was open for ventilation waking the victim up. She awoke to find the suspect standing over her and screamed. The suspect fled back out the bedroom window.
Officers made contact with Contreras not far from the home of the victim, when speaking with him he admitted to being in the home. He was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for burglary and attempted rape. It is unclear where the attempted rape charges stem from but as of July 28th, the District Attorney’s Office has charged him with burglary.
