ADELANTO – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the City of Adelanto, with upcoming events planned to unite the community.
On Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. the city will host its 13th Annual Christmas Parade. The festive parade features 47 entries and will begin at the corner of Seneca and Aster Roads, proceeding east on Seneca and ending at Desert Trails Elementary School on Bellflower Street. City officials said that the Grand Marshals for this year are Jerry Davis, CSPA Group President and Brad Eckenweiler, Chief Executive Officer, Lifestyle Delivery Systems Inc.
At the final City Council meeting of the 2017 year, on Wednesday, December 13th winners of the Handlebars for Christmas Giveaway will be revealed at 7:00 p.m. The City of Adelanto again has collected non-perishable food items to help support local food pantries including, High Desert Outreach and the Adelanto Community Resource Center. Children from local schools were awarded a “Golden Ticket”, which gives them a chance to receive one of several donated bicycles.
During the meeting, the city’s 47th anniversary will also be celebrated in honor of the City of Adelanto becoming incorporated on December 22, 1970.
