ADELANTO, Calif. – A 32-year-old Adelanto man was shot and killed by deputies responding to a domestic violence call.
On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at around 11:10 a.m. deputies were dispatched to a home in the 18100 Poinciana Road in the City of Adelanto. Authorities said that when they arrived, the suspect, later identified as Darrell Allen, fled on foot from the location. Deputies were conducted an area check and while in an apartment complex, they determined that someone was inside the apartment’s laundry room.
Allen came out of the laundry room, and according to deputies went towards them while armed with a knife. At least one deputy fired his/her service weapon, shooting the suspect. He was transported to Victor Valley Global Medical Center, where he died as a result of his injuries.
Detectives from the Homicide Detail responded to conduct the investigation.
