ADELANTO – A 41-year-old Adelanto man was arrested after he allegedly forced a victim into his home Thursday night. At around 9:20 p.m. deputies from the Victor Valley Station responded to the home in the 12000 block of Chamberlaine Way for the report of a disturbance involving juveniles.
Authorities said that Marcus Gilmore believed that his home was being broken into by juvenile suspects. Deputies also spoke to neighbors and eventually located the juvenile inside Gilmore’s home. The juvenile told authorities that Gilmore forced him into his home, held him at gunpoint, threatened to shoot him, and demanded he lied to deputies about what took place.
Gilmore who is a convicted felon was also found to have a felony arrest warrant for a perjury and fraud to obtain over $400 in aid case from the San Bernardino Superior Court. A search warrant was served at Gilmore’s home where two loaded pistols as well as other evidence supporting the victim’s statement.
Gilmore was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for kidnapping, assault with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, false imprisonment, felon prohibited from owning ammunition, and for the arrest warrant. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Gilmore is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, for an arraignment hearing.
