VICTORVILLE – A 19-year-old Adelanto man was arrested for the robbery of the High Desert Truck Stop located at 15655 US-395 in the City of Victorville.
On Thursday, February 22, 2018, the suspect, later identified as Gilbert Alverado walked into the High Desert Truck Stop wearing a mask. Alverado demanded that the clerk gave him cash and cigarettes. The clerk handed the cash and cigarettes over to the suspect, who then fled the store.
“Deputies located Alverado, who still had the cash and cigarettes in his possession, near Cactus and Caliente Roads in Adelanto,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. Alverado was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for robbery and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on March 5, 2018.
