Apple Valley Man Arrested for Assaulting His Girlfriend & Female Family Member

APPLE VALLEY, Ca. – A 27-year-old Apple Valley man was arrested after assaulting his estranged girlfriend and his female family member on Sunday evening.

Authorities said that at around 7:35 p.m. they were dispatched to a home in the 20400 block of Sago Lane in the Town of Apple Valley for the report of a family disturbance. A deputy arrived and made contact with the occupants and learned that Jeffery McCutcheon assaulted his estranged girlfriend. During the assault, McCutcheon allegedly punched, kicked, and held the victim to the ground to prevent her from leaving. He also allegedly threatened to kill her if she left the home. 

One of McCutcheon’s relatives attempted to assist the victim and she too was assaulted as a result. Both victims sustained minor injuries. McCutcheon was arrested and transported to High Desert Detention Center where he was booked for inflicting corporal injuries on a spouse or co-habitant, assault with possibly great bodily injury, false imprisonment and criminal threats. McCutcheon is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
