APPLE VALLEY – A 65-year-old Apple Valley man lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on Monday afternoon. At around 12:05 p.m. deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to Jess Ranch Parkway and Town Center Drive for the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian. When deputies responded they located a man, later identified as Kirpal Singh Dhaliwa lying in the roadway with a head injury.
Authorities said that Shelly Tucker, 47, of Apple Valley was driving a 2001 Silver Ford Explorer southbound on Jess Ranch Parkway. Tucker attempted to a left hand turn on Town Center Drive and did not see the Dhaliwa and struck him with her vehicle. Apple Valley fire and AMR responded to the scene. Dhaliwa was rushed to Desert Valley Hospital in preparation to be airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he died as a result of his injuries.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Apple Valley Station, Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). responded to the scene to conduct an investigation and returned to the scene the following day to further investigate.
