VICTORVILLE – An Apple Valley man was convicted of raping his 10-year-old niece last month and now has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. Eric Damonne Green, 33, was found guilty of one count of Sex with a Child Age 10 or Under and one count of Forcible Rape of a Child Under Age 14 on December 27, 2017.
“This case brings justice to a child who suffered horrendously,” said San Bernardino County Deputy District Attorney David Foy, who prosecuted the case for the Desert-Mountain Division Family Violence Unit. “The victim’s mother told me she is so happy because she felt that nobody had believed her daughter.”
Authorities were notified in 2013, two years following the rape when the child, then 12 reported that she had been raped by Green. She told authorities that two years earlier Green went into her room late at night and sexually assaulted her. The victim testified while accompanied by Victim Advocate Yesica Cioli and K9 Dozer, that Green threatened to harm her if she reported the rape which kept her from reporting the incident for so long.
