APPLE VALLEY – Several special vaccination clinics are planned in the Town of Apple Valley, with the first coming in just over two weeks town officials said.
The 2018 rabies vaccination clinics start the year off on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, with rabies vaccines for only $6 each. Also offered will be microchips for only $20 and other vaccines, also at a reduced cost. The event is a cash-only event that will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Those who live in the Town of Apple Valley or those living in unincorporated county areas will also be able to renew their dog’s license.
The event will come starting off a series of similar events, every other month throughout 2018. All clinics will be held at the Town’s municipal animal shelter located at 22131 Powhatan Road just east of Quinault Road.
The dates of the events will be:
- April 4
- June 6
- August 1
- December 5
In addition to these vaccination clinic days, the Paws N’ Claws Pet Fair will be on October 20, 2018, with vaccination pricing from $6 to $15. Low-income families may also qualify for assistance. The pet fair is only one of several special events the shelter hosts to increase awareness about responsible pet ownership and raise funds to help defray the cost of adoptions, microchips, medical expenses and more. The disco-themed Fur Ball will be held on April 14. The annual Cruisin’ Fur Critters Poker Run will take place on May 12 and three Junior Pet Keeper Camps have been scheduled to take place during the spring, summer and fall school breaks.
