Apple Valley, CA – The Town of Apple Valley announced on Monday the late-2019 opening of a Corky’s Homestyle Kitchen and Bakery.
The Town approved the plans for the remodel and occupancy in the Johnny D’s building on Bear Valley and Apple Valley Roads. This will accompany several other highly-successful restaurants including Red Robin, Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebee’s, and Oggi’s on February 1st. Town officials said that the building remodel will include glass storefront enhancements and the clay tile roof will be replaced with a standing seam metal roof. An outdoor dining patio will be included by demolishing a portion of the current structure.
The 20-year-old restaurant, owned by Mike and Jennifer Towles are bringing the homestyle cooking to Apple Valley. “I grew up in the High Desert and attended high school here,” said Mike Towles. “This is a special place for me and I still consider it my old stomping grounds. It just makes sense that our family-inspired concept would come full circle. It will be a great fit in Apple Valley.” The restaurant was inspired by Grandma Corkey and serves homestyle entrees and fresh bakery items. The new location in the Town of Apple Valley will be the 12th Corky’s restaurant, the first in the High Desert. Current locations include Fontana, Ladera Ranch, Rancho Cucamonga, and Claremont. Menu items include a steak and egg breakfast, ‘Corky’s Triple Decker’ beef, ham and turkey sandwich for lunch, and a prime rib special for dinner.
“Grandma Corky made everything from scratch using only the freshest ingredients,” said owner Jennifer Towels. “She passed down recipes that not only filled your stomach but also your heart and soul. Her main ingredient was love and a genuine appreciation for all her guests. We strive to carry on that tradition by providing our guests with the best dining experience possible.”
Prior to opening in late 2019, Corky’s anticipates hiring 60-80 individuals to help serve their guests.
“We are very excited to welcome the interest and investment made by the Towles family and Corky’s at this location. This will be a great new dining choice for our residents,” added Mayor Larry Cusack.More information on Corky’s Homestyle Kitchen and Bakery, including their full menu and other locations, is available at www.corkyskitchenandbakery.com.
