SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – An Apple Valley woman died as a result of a traffic collision on the 210 freeway on Tuesday, July 10, 2019.
At around 1:09 a.m., a 49-year-old Apple Valley woman was driving a 1999 Tan Lincoln Navigator on westbound SR-210, east of Arden Avenue at an unknown speed. Zachariah Jorel Zile, 33, of Apple Valley, was driving a 2018 blue Dodge Charger in the same direction at an unknown speed. The Dodge collided into the back of the Lincoln, causing it to travel out of control onto the right shoulder embankment and colliding with a light pole.
The driver of the Lincoln sustained major life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital. She later died as a result of her injuries at the hospital. The name of the woman is being withheld so that her family can first be notified.
Following the collision, Zachariah Jorel Zile fled the scene and was apprehended shortly after
without incident. Zile was arrested on suspicion of Murder, Driving Under the Influence, and Hit
