HESPERIA, Calif. – A Hesperia man was arrested after a verbal altercation that led to violence.
On Sunday, February 24, 2019, at around 9:45 a.m. deputies from the Hesperia station responded to the report of a verbal disturbance in the 18700 block of Lemon Street in the City of Hesperia. When they arrived, they learned that Austin Markey, 23, and the female victim were involved in a verbal argument due to Markey failing to help around the house. “Markey became upset and swung his arm at the victim, hitting her in the forehead with a cell phone he had in his hand,” Hesperia Sheriff’s Station Spokesman Edgar Moran said.
Markey was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Battery. He was released on Sunday evening after being cited and released. There are no court dates scheduled at this time.
