BARSTOW – Barstow Police arrested a 45-year-old man who broke into the Ample Korean Restaurant located in Barstow early Tuesday morning.
At around 3:19 a.m. Barstow Police were dispatched to 120 S. First Avenue in Barstow for the report of a burglar alarm. Officers arrived at 3:22 a.m. to find the power to the business shut off. Officers set up a perimeter around the business as additional units arrived. Officers learned that someone had tunneled through the ceiling in the power room to the back of the business where he shut off the power.
The masked burglary suspect emerged from the back door carrying property belonging to the business. Officer Willis chased and made contact with the suspect at the rear of the business. A second officer arrived at the scene to assist in detaining the suspect and investigating the incident.
The suspect, identified as Jason Leroy Jaramillo, 45, was in possession of stolen property from the business. The property was confiscated from the suspect and returned to the Ample Korean Restaurant. Jaramillo was booked into jail for commercial burglary.
