MORENO VALLEY, Ca. – A Menifee man was arrested for the murder of an 18-year-old Inglewood man.
At around 2:08 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020, Moreno Valley Station deputies responded to the 16500 block of Century Street in the City of Moreno Valley for the report of an assault with a deadly weapon. When they arrived, they found a male victim, later identified as Massai Cole, of Inglewood, suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies provided aid to Cole while they awaited emergency medical personnel. When the paramedics arrived, they continued life-saving efforts.
The victim died at the scene as a result of his injuries. Homicide detectives responded to assume the investigation. Darren Peter Zesk, 18, of Menifee was identified as the suspect involved in the murder of Cole. Zesk was booked into jail for murder.
