APPLE VALLEY – Deputies from the Apple Valley station are seeking information regarding a Sunday night hit-and-run traffic collision leaving a woman severely injured.
At around 8:20 p.m. deputies responded to Navajo Road and Sitting Bull Road for the report of a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision. When they arrived they found a Black female adult lying unresponsive in the #2 lane of northbound Navajo Road. The woman was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle that hit the woman, fled the scene westbound on Sitting Bull Road. The vehicle was described by witnesses to be a white or silver 4-door sedan. The vehicle should also have damage to the right front headlight and passenger side of the windshield. The driver was described as a bald White male adult and there was a white female in the front passenger seat.
The collision is currently under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – Apple Valley Station. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Deputy Kayla Peters or Deputy Thomas Bechtol at 760-240-7400.
