PHELAN, Ca. – Authorities are asking for the public’s help to locate two assailants who attacked a man in the parking lot of the Napa Auto Parts store in Phelan on Monday.
The seemingly unprovoked attack occurred at around 10:45 a.m. at 9501 Sheep Creek Road as the man was sitting in his vehicle. He told deputies that the two black men who he did not believe he had seen before, approached him. One of the men began yelling at him before spraying him in the face with pepper spray. The two suspects then got into a white SUV and left the parking lot. The SUV was described as having dark tinted windows and damage on the right side of the back bumper.
Both suspects were black men, the first was described as 20-30 years old. He was skinny and was wearing a blue “LA” hat and a white t-shirt. There was no other description for the second suspect. The victim was treated by emergency medical personnel at the scene.
