VICTORVILLE, Calif. – Two men were detained after a witness called to report that they were parked behind bushes calling out to children.
At around 2:22 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, Victorville Station deputies were dispatched to the area of Seneca and El Evado Roads after the men were witnessed trying to get children to go over to them as they walked by. The men were in a Dodge van parked in bushes in the area. The children continued walking away from the van. The van drove away but was located by deputies who conducted a traffic stop.
Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify the children since they were no longer in the area when deputies arrived. Photos of the van involved in the incident are being released and investigators are asking that any witnesses to the incident, contact the Victorville Police Department at (760) 241-2911 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at (760) 954-5001.
