YUCAIPA – Seven Yucaipa residents believed to be involved in multiple recent mail and property theft were arrested after authorities arrived at a home as part of a probation compliance check.
On Thursday, July 13, 2017, Yucaipa Police Detectives, Deputies from the Yucaipa Police Department’s MET Team, and a San Bernardino County Probation Officer assigned to the Yucaipa Police Station responded to the home in the 34700 block of Shangri Lane in the City of Yucaipa. When they arrived they made contact with Nicholas Patterson, 33, and Lisa Atherly, 35, who were inside the home using undisclosed illicit drugs.
While deputies were there, a vehicle drove up to the home. The vehicle was occupied by Eloisa Valles, 25, Lexy Shay, 27, and David Johnson, 32 and when they saw that officers were at the home they attempted to leave. As the trio began to leave the home, they allegedly threw narcotic paraphernalia out of the window. A deputy caught up with them and stopped the vehicle on 3rd and Date Street. All three suspects were arrested for various drug violations and the items tossed from the window were recovered as evidence. Shay was found to be on Formal Felony probation and was in violation of the terms of her probation.
As authorities conducted record searches and prepared to arrest the five suspects, two additional suspects arrived at the home. Jesse Delorbe,30, and Sarah Bartsch were found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, stolen mail, and other suspected stolen items. Based on evidence, authorities believe all seven suspects were involved in ongoing theft of mail throughout the City of Yucaipa.
