RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A Rancho Cucamonga woman felt lucky to be alive on Thursday morning when she woke up to find that an unknown woman had attempted to start a fire on the front porch of her home. Ginger Chong said that she lives off of the 210 freeway near Haven Avenue in the City of Rancho Cucamonga.
The incident was caught on surveillance while everyone inside of the home was sleeping. The purse-toting woman used a gas can to dump accelerant on the pillow of a chair on the front porch of the home, she then continued to attempt to light the pillow on fire.
The motive of the unidentified woman is still unknown and Chong said that she does not recognize her but is hoping that the public will.
Anyone who recognizes this woman or who has any information that may assist authorities in locating her should call the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station at (909) 477-2800. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call 800-78-CRIME or leave tips at www.wetip.com.
