RIVERSIDE, Calif. – A 60-year-old Highland man was stuck and killed in a hit and run vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
On Friday, March 15, 2019, at around 9:55 p.m. Riverside Police were dispatched to the collision in the 4200 block of Strong Street. Officers arrived to find a male victim on the street. The vehicle was nowhere to be found but accidentally left some evidence at the scene. Hector Julian Diaz-Andrade was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and died as a result of his injuries four days later.
Surveillance footage captured from a nearby home, showed the vehicle was a compact dark-colored sedan. Through investigation, officers located evidence at the scene helped officers to identify the suspect vehicle as a gray 2014-2016 Toyota Scion TC. The vehicle is believed to have significant damage to the right side, and the passenger side mirrow was broken away during the collision.
