RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A Rancho Cucamonga sex offender was seen near Bear Gulch Elementary School and Bear Gulch Park on Thursday authorities said.
David Stockwell, 58, is a registered sex offender was reported to be in close proximity to the school and deputies made contact with him a quarter mile of the school, which was in compliance with his registration. Stockwell was convicted of annoying or molesting a child under 18 years of age, rape by force, molestation of a child under 14 years of age, and rape of a victim not capable of giving consent. Since release from serving his time, Stockwell resides in the 9200 block of Calle Vejar in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. Stockwell is 6’01”, 160 pounds, has hazel eyes, and gray hair.
Residents should be vigilant, reporting any suspicious activity, but should not use Stockwell or any sex offender’s information to harass or commit a crime against him. “Registrant disclosure is solely for the purpose to make the public aware and protect our community,” Rancho Cucamonga Police officials said. “We would like to make any parents or visitors to the park aware of Stockwell’s presence in the area, so they can individually make decisions on how best to proceed with the safety and security of themselves and their children.” Anyone who does harass or commits a crime against anyone, including a sex offender is subject to criminal prosecution.
