WHITTIER, Ca. – A Lakewood woman is wanted for theft by false pretenses after accepting the rent and deposit for a home she does not own.
Authorities are asking for help to locate 35-year-old Luz Stilwell who allegedly advertised a Whittier home that she does not own, for rent on Craigslist. The victims said that she met with them on two separate occasions (June 25, 2019 and July 24, 2019) to tour the home. She accepted a $2600 deposit but never provided the keys. Authorities learned through investigation that Stilwell does not own the home and it was not actually for rent.
Stilwell is a Hispanic woman, she is around 5’01” tall and 130 pounds. She has brown hair and eyes. She drives a grey Toyota Camry with CA License plate 5MMM700.
