RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Riverside Police are asking for any information that can help lead them to a hit and run driver that killed a Riverside bicyclist.
On Saturday, March 23, 2019, at around 7:45 a.m. City of Riverside Police and Fire personnel responded to the report of a bicyclist down in the area of Victoria Avenue at Myers Street. When they arrived they found a male bicyclist lying in the westbound bicycle lane on Victoria Avenue. Through investigation they learned that the 53-year-old bicyclist was in the westbound bike lane when when the vehicle struck him leading to life-threatening injuries.
The bicyclist was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but died as a result of his injuries a short time later. The identity of the deceased bicyclist is not being released at this time.
The Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded and is currently investigating.Anyone with information regarding this collision is urged to call Riverside Police Traffic Detective Z. Fishell at (951) 826-8723 or zfishell@riversideca.gov.
