BARSTOW – A Barstow resident shared a recent experience she had with the Barstow Fire Department. Earlier this week, Donna Baisa’s fiance’s mother fell and injured her ankle and knee.
Barstow Fire Department firefighters arrived at the home to assist the injured woman and transport her to the hospital for treatment. “While they were there John (Donna’s husband) was talking to one of the guys from the fire department telling him how he needs to make a ramp to get her in and out of the house,” said Donna.
John Heffernan had the wood to make the ramp Donna said on a Facebook post, but not sure how to build the ramp. The firefighter told John that he would get some men together to help the following morning at 9:00 a.m. As promised, three firefighters arrived to assist John in building a brand new ramp to help prevent future falls keeping the family’s mind at ease.
