BARSTOW – A 23-year-old Barstow man was arrested for the theft of a Honda CBR motorcycle authorities said. At around 8:47 p.m. on Tuesday night a Barstow Police officer was at the Circle K located at 500 Rimrock Road when he noticed a red Honda motorcycle with a punched ignition near the front doors of the business. Immediately, the officer requested a record check on the license plate on the motorcycle. Barstow Police Dispatch Center indicated that the motorcycle was reported stolen from Glendale, Arizona on June 18, 2016.
From outside the store, the officer could see a subject holding a motorcycle helmet inside. The officer called for backup and all responding officers waited around the business for the suspect to exit the store. The suspect, later identified as Devin Poindexter left the business, went to the motorcycle and started it using a screwdriver. Two officers made contact with Poindexter and detained him without incident. He was booked into jail for Grand Theft Auto and Possession of a stolen vehicle. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is due to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday afternoon.
