BARSTOW, CA. – A Barstow foster parent was arrested for allegedly molesting several children who were placed in his care.
Juan Antonio Esparza, 71, of Barstow, was arrested on Thursday, September 15, 2022, after a nearly 3-month-long investigation into allegations brought to the attention of authorities in June.
Through investigation five former foster children were confirmed to be sexually abused by Esparza at his Barstow home in the 31000 Block of Balsa Avenue. Esparza was booked at the Central Detention Center, in San Bernardino, for Lewd and Lascivious Acts on a Child and Oral Copulation with a Child. He is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Detectives believe there are other victims who have been victimized by Esparza and are releasing his photo.
