BARSTOW, Calif. – A 60-year-old Barstow man was arrested for the possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of sale, officials said.
The Barstow Police Department received reports of Jeffery Cooper selling methamphetamine in the City of Barstow. The reporting party said that Cooper also had a handgun. Police began investigating the report and learned that Cooper is a convicted felon who is restricted from possessing a firearm.
On July 12, 2019, at around 6:10 p.m. while conducting surveillance in the 2100 block of West Main Street the detective saw cooper driving a white semi-truck to meet with another vehicle. Cooper stopped his vehicle, got out, and approached a black Chevrolet Tahoe. Police made contact with Cooper who had a loaded 9mm handgun and suspected methamphetamine in his vehicle. In addition, he has cash and a digital scale. It was determined that Cooper had the methamphetamine for the purpose of sale.
Jeffery Cooper was arrested and booked into the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Barstow Jail for Possession of a Controlled substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale, and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
