BARSTOW – Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a Barstow Shell gas station on Tuesday morning.
On May 8, 2018, at around 4:52 a.m., Barstow police responded to a call reporting an armed robbery at the Shell gas station located in the 2800 block of Lenwood Road. Witnesses said that a Black man, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans entered the gas station. The unidentified suspect then pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. “When the clerk was unable to open the cash register, the suspect stole several items from the counter and fled from the gas station,” Barstow Police officials said.
Officers conducted an extensive area search for the suspect but did not locate him. The surveillance camera was able to capture an image of the suspect. The suspect is described as 5’10 and approximately 240 pounds.
