A Barstow woman, who was involved in a hit and run traffic collision that left a man severely injured was arrested on Monday.
On Sunday, January 6, 2019, at around 6:30 p.m. Barstow Police responded to the 800 block of South Muriel Drive for the report of the hit and run traffic collision. When officers arrived they located the male victim lying on the roadway, unresponsive with severe head trauma and other injuries to his lower extremities. Due to the extent of his injuries, the victim was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
On Monday, January 7, 2019, just after midnight a citizen informant reported the location of the vehicle involved in the hit and run collision. The vehicle was located in a mobile home park on the 600 block of Rimrock Road. The vehicle was determined to have damage consistent with the collision and was towed to the Barstow Police Department to be processed for evidence.
Brittany Blake, 24, of Barstow, was identified as the sole occupant and driver of the vehicle that struck the victim and fled from the scene. At around 2:15 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019, Blake was arrested and booked into jail for hit and run with injuries.
The victim is currently in critical but stable condition. Blake is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Wednesday evening.
