BARSTOW – A 31-year-old Barstow woman was arrested for the possession of a stolen vehicle and for carrying a loaded firearm on Friday. At around 6:49 a.m. an officer from the Barstow Police Department was called to respond to the 600 block of Sunset Court in the City of Barstow for the report of a stolen vehicle parked in the area.
The officer arrived and began investigating the incident. During the investigation he noticed four people getting into the 2017 Ford Expedition. The vehicle, which was confirmed stolen through a records check, drove away from the location. The officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Corinne Evans. When the vehicle was searched, a loaded handgun was found. Evans was booked into jail for the possession of the loaded handgun and possession of the stolen vehicle.
Evans was released on bail on Friday night and has no court appearances scheduled at this time.
