LAKE ARROWHEAD – An English teacher at Beaumont High School was arrested for allegedly committing unlawful sex acts with a 16-year-old female.
The incident was reported on September 25, 2017, was passed on from the Beaumont Police Department to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – Specialized Investigations, Crimes Against Children Detail (CACD), The suspect, Christina Mei Jacobson, also known as Chris Austin, 37, a resident of Lake Arrowhead allegedly committed a lewd act upon a student from the school she taught at. The incident reportedly took place in or at the home of the teacher. Numerous parties were interviewed and evidence was collected.
The school placed the teacher on leave when they learned of the allegations. “When detectives attempted to make contact with Austin, they determined she had moved out of her residence and her whereabouts were unknown,” authorities said in the news release. “The investigation led detectives to believe Austin had illegal sexual contact with the minor within the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s jurisdiction.”
The case was submitted to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office, and an arrest warrant was obtained on September 27, 2017, for Sexual Penetration of a Minor and Oral Copulation of a Minor. The suspect was located during a traffic stop in the La Canada/Flintridge area and was taken into custody. She was booked into the West Valley Detention Center, where she is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail. She is scheduled to be arraigned at the San Bernardino Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon.
