BASSETT, Calif. – The body of an unidentified person was found on Monday morning near the eastbound 60 freeway, to the northbound 605 freeway transition.
The discovery was reported at around 9:00 a.m. The reporting party discovered the remains on the dirt shoulder near the unincorporated area of Bassett, just west of West Covina. Investigators responded to the call of a passerby that called to report the possible sighting of a body on the side of the freeway.
Authorities said that the body was partially concealed, leaving them with no gender, race, or age description at this time. The identity and cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
