BARSTOW – The motive behind the murder of a 27-year-old Barstow woman by her boyfriend, a Barstow man still remains unclear officials said.
Shortly before 10:43 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018, deputies from the Barstow Station responded to 25000 block of West Main Street in the county area of Barstow for the report of a deceased woman located inside an apartment. Deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to find Trayana Denice Taylor, 27, dead inside the apartment.Authorities said that the victim suffered multiple injuries, but the cause of her death was determined to be at least one gunshot wound.
Authorities immediately made contact with her boyfriend, Andre Dewprey Woodard, 37. Woodard was found to be in possession of a handgun and was booked into the Central Detention Center for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Evidence collected led to Woodard being the suspect in the murder leading to his booking for the Murder of Taylor. Formal charges from the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office followed. The family of Taylor started a Go Fund Me Account to assist with the costs associated with her funeral.
