VICTORVILLE – A 46-year-old Victorville man was arrested for the murder of his girlfriend, Veda Mims on Friday.
Mims was found deceased in her apartment home in the 15700 block of Sueno Lane on Friday, October 13, 2017, at around 12:53 a.m. after her sister requested a welfare check Her sister said that Mims had just recently moved and she had not heard from her for several days. When deputies entered the home they found Mim’s deceased, which led to an investigation.
Through investigation, detectives determined that Mims was apparently assaulted inside her apartment by suspect Saul Ricks. Detectives attempted to locate Ricks for questioning related to the incident but learned that he had fled to Oklahoma City. The Specialized Enforcement Detail (SED) personnel made contact with the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force in Oklahoma, who located and arrested Ricks on Friday. He was transported back to San Bernardino County, where he will face murder charges.
