HESPERIA – It is more than just a trip down memory lane — the moment you walk into the C Street Station in the City of Hesperia you feel a sense of peace — almost like returning to your childhood home. 24/7 Headline News reporters had the pleasure of meeting with Lydia Marsala on Saturday to learn more about her business. Lydia said that she began her business from home many years ago and it began with refurbishing used furniture. “It helped me put my children through college,” said Lydia.
The store is different than most with Lydia giving others in the community an opportunity to rent different areas of her store to showcase their products. All the items, whether it be on a shelf or an entire small room, are labeled marking who they belong to so they can receive proper credit for their merchandise. Lydia and Sergio Marsala, the owners of C Street Station are well-known in the community, providing support to the community in times of need. Many times they have opened their business location to collect donations for those impacted by fires or other personal tragedies.
Lydia puts her heart and her painting talents into her business painting furniture; most shabby chic. “Monday is our painting day, everyone who wants to come help paint furniture does then we bring it here,” said Lydia. The store recently moved from I Avenue to her C Avenue store located at 9460 C Avenue to what was previously an antique store. A big seller for C Street Station is furniture, but there are many smaller items; many that are unique or reminiscent of years past. As you hang out inside the quaint antique store, people greet each other with friendly smiles and a warm embrace. Stopping by C Street Station is sure to make you want to want to return to visit again. C Street Station is open Tuesday thru Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
