PALM SPRINGS, Ca. – A convicted felon was arrested on Tuesday after becoming upset and firing a handgun into the air.
At around 3:40 a.m., Palm Springs Police Department (PSPD) officers responded to a report of gunshots heard near the 2800 block of Valencia Road. When officers arrived they searched the area and located convicted felon, Rocky Rucker, 31, of Cathedral City. Rucker was hiding in the yard of a home. A revolver containing live and previously fired ammunition was located near Rucker.
The investigation revealed Rucker was in the area visiting a friend when he became upset and allegedly fired the handgun into the air. Rucker was arrested and booked at the Smith Correctional Facility for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a concealed firearm, discharging a firearm in public, felon in possession of ammunition, and violation of post release community supervision.
