PALM DESERT, Calif. – A 24-year-old Cathedral City man was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash in Palm Desert on Sunday afternoon.
Just before 3:00 p.m. the California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the area of Montanas Road near El Viento Road for the report of a motorcycle crash. Tyler Rafael Hoffman, 24, was driving a 2014 Suzuki DRZ400 westbound on Las Montanas Road when for reasons still under investigation, he failed to slow for the curve at El Viento Road. The motorcycle continued in a westerly direction, CHP officials said. The motorcycle came to a rest after crashing into a commercial building.
Hoffman was pronounced dead at the scene. This collision is still under investigation. Alcohol and/or drugs did not appear to be a factor. If you have any information concerning this collision, please contact Officer Chavez at the Indio CHP Office (760) 772-5300.
