POMONA, Calif. – Pomona police rescued a 14-year-old human trafficking victim in an area known as the Holt Avenue Corridor on Thursday.
The Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) conducted an operation using plainclothes officers. The officers set up surveillance along the Holt Corridor, an area frequented by human trafficking victims and suspects. During the investigation officers noticed and rescued the young victim who was interviewed and provided with resourced. Authorities are attempting to identify the human trafficker, otherwise known as a pimp.
“The Pomona Police Department is taking a proactive approach to improving the quality of life by addressing and deterring human trafficking and prostitution activities along the Holt Ave corridor,” police officials said. “The Pomona Police Department takes a zero tolerance approach to Human Trafficking and sexual exploitation.”
