VICTORVILLE – A suspect was arrested three days after a Monday, July 3, 2017, attempted robbery.
The original incident occurred as the woman was walking to work in the area of Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road at 3:23 a.m. on Monday. The woman said that the suspect, who was riding a lowrider bicycle approached her and asked for a cigarette. She told him that she did not have one and he began grabbing her and knocked her to the ground. While on the ground, he attempted to grab hold of her purse but the victim hit the suspect and got away. The woman called 911 to report the incident, but the suspect was not located.
On Thursday, July 6, 2017, at around 12:15 p.m. a woman who read about the incident on a local blog said she believes she may have seen the suspect behind some businesses on Bear Valley Road near Amethyst Road. She said that she believed that it may have been him due to the man witnessed also being on a lowrider bicycle. Robert Stolar, 24, of Victorville was detained. The victim later positively identified Stolar as the suspect who attacked and attempted to rob her.
Stolar was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Robbery, as well as outstanding warrants.
