COACHELLA– On Wednesday February 22, 2017, at 1:30 a.m, A Coachella police officer was patrolling in the area of Genoa Street and noticed a man in dark clothing standing next to a vehicle and looking suspiciously into a residents front yard. The officer attempted to make contact with the subject, but he ran jumping to the backyard of the residents.
The officer chased the subject and caught him while still in the backyard of the home. During a search of the suspect, the officer located burglary tools and illicit drugs. Officers also located a loaded handgun where Sandoval was standing upon first contact.
Edward Sandoval, 25, of Coachella was arrested and booked into the Indio Jail for being a convicted felon in possession of a loaded handgun, possession of drugs, possession of burglary tools, and prowling.
