COLTON – A 35-year-old Colton man was caught on surveillance breaking into Rosie’s Mexican Restaurant in Grand Terrace on Friday. Just before 6:00 a.m. on Friday deputies were dispatched to the restaurant located at 22419 Barton Road for the report of a burglary alarm. Deputies arrived a short time later to find a broken glass front door.
Upon further investigation, deputies found that the cash register was taken from the restaurant and that the crime was captured by in-restaurant surveillance cameras. The suspect was identified as Steven Adkins, who was located and arrested on the 1100 block of Alida Street on Friday at around 12:30 p.m.
When arrested Adkins was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. He was also wearing the same clothing he wore while captured on surveillance committing the crime. He was booked into the Central Detention Center for burglary, vandalism and possession of a controlled substance. He was also found to be on Felony probation for a previous burglary.
