CORONA – Two men are dead after a murder-suicide in the City of Corona on the afternoon on Monday, June 18, 2018. At around 3:27 p.m. the Corona Police Department responded to a home in the 400 block of Roosevelt Street regarding a “shots fired” call. The reporting party said that gunshots were fired inside the home. When officers arrived they located two men dead inside the home. Through investigation, they learned that Gregory Donald Franklin Jr., 41, of Corona, shot his father-in-law, Edgar Morris Jones, 73, of Corona after a family dispute.

Authorities said that several other family members were home at the time of the shooting. None of the other family members were injured, but the Trauma Intervention Program of Corona (TIP) was called to provide support and/or resources.
