SANTA ANA, CA. – A 40-year-old Cypress man was charged with several felonies for the sexual assault and torture of children.
Douglas Alba, is accused of sexually assaulting and torturing a 10-year-old child, a 14-year-old child and two other children; whose ages have not been disclosed. The crime was discovered when a badly battered 10-year-old child was taken to the hospital last month with a brain bleed, bruising throughout the child’s body, and black eyes. Alba was arrested by the Cypress Police Department. He is charged with one felony count each of torture, child abuse, endangerment, and four felony counts of corporal injury to a child. He also has been charged with two felony counts of sodomy by force of a child 14-years-old or older, and two counts of sexual penetration of a child 14 years old by a foreign object by force, one felony count of attempted forcible oral copulation of a child 14-years-old or older, and two felony counts of lewd and lascivious act on a child 14 or 15 years old.
Alba will be arraigned at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana on August 24th. Meanwhile, he will be held at the Theo Lacy Facility in lieu of $1 million bail. If convicted of all charges, he faces up to 30 years to life in prison.
