FONTANA – Not everyone is suitable for every type of career, take Detective Kyle Slusser for example; he works with the Fontana Police Department. Just as others who chose law enforcement as their career, he has had to investigate some horrible incidents.
Recently, Detective Slusser was assigned to a particularly difficult case of a 6-year-old girl who had been molested by her own biological father.
Detective Slusser investigated the case and gathered substantial evidence, but was unable to get any type of statement from the suspect. Detective Slusser needed additional evidence in order for criminal charges to be filed against the alleged child molester.
Immediately, Detective Slusser dug deeper into the case leaving no stone unturned He researched records and conducted numerous follow ups. Through investigation, Detective Slusser made contact with a young woman who shared that she too was a victim to the same man years ago.
Authorities said that the woman’s life spiraled out of control since the molestation, possible as a result of the trauma.
Although the woman now lives a difficult life, she was eager to assist Detective Slusser with information and leads which helped him to build a prosecutable case. The Fontana Police Department named Detective Slusser officer of the month for the month of March. “We recognize Det Slusser’s resolve and drive to find justice for both the former and current victim,” said Fontana Police officials.
