UPDATE: (4:45 p.m.) The body of an adult male was located and recovered by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Dive Team in the area of Ranchero Road and 11th Avenue.
HESPERIA – The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s dive team is searching the aqueduct near Ranchero road and 11th avenue for a man who fell into the aqueduct after rescuing a boy.
Sheriff’s officials said that on Sunday afternoon at around 12:50 p.m. the 9-year-old boy fell into the aqueduct, the man pulled him to the surface but never resurfaced. There is no confirmed information available at this time about the relationship the boy had to the man but unconfirmed witness reports indicate that the man is the father of the boy. Information will be updated as it is received.
