HESPERIA – Over two months following a crash that killed a 53-year-old Hesperia woman an arrest was made on Friday afternoon.
On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, Deborah Harr was driving north on Balsam Avenue near the intersection of Live Oak Street when shortly before 10:37 p.m. a 2003 Ford Escape heading east on Live Oak Street failed to stop at a stop sign. The Escape driven by 23-year-old Hesperia resident, Scott Enriquez slammed into her vehicle sending her Matrix into a telephone pole, electrical box, and a chain link fence. The force of the collision caused the Escape to overturn several times stopping after crashing into a fence.
Deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene finding Enriquez with only minor injuries, but Harr deceased. Enriquez was not arrested until around 3:40 p.m. on Friday afternoon in the 16300 block of Hercules Street in the City of Hesperia for Vehicular Manslaughter with Gross Negligence. On Saturday, February 17, 2018, he was released on undisclosed bail at 5:19 a.m. according to arrest records. No court appearances are scheduled at this time.
